Business Development

Joining our team of experts as a Business Development Team lead, this pivotal role requires a visionary leader to spearhead ACE’s future growth by identifying untapped opportunities, forging innovative partnerships, and conceptualizing groundbreaking projects. Guiding the implementation of ACE’s business development strategy involves not just analyzing the current market landscape but also envisioning future trends and possibilities. Cultivating strategic alliances, amplifying ACE’s visibility through dynamic online and offline strategies, and orchestrating bespoke networking events are paramount for future success. Collaborating closely with the Managing Partner and units, while fostering a culture of high performance, ensures ACE remains at the forefront of its industry. This role demands a visionary mindset, forward-thinking strategy, and a proactive approach to propel ACE towards sustained growth, innovation, and market leadership.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify new opportunities/partnerships and lead proposal writing, program/project concept development, etc.
  • Lead the implementation of ACE’s business development strategy and regular assessment and target setting through analysis of the company’s existing strategy, market positioning, competitor analysis, etc. 
  • Building new strategic partnerships and nurturing existing client relationships
  • Lead development of ACE’s visibility strategy and ensure implementation of the strategy to enhance online and offline footprint as well as market presence.
  • Develop and coordinate networking and other relevant sessions/events to increase ACE’s visibility and traction to targeted clientele within ACE priority sectors and offerings. 
  • Working in close collaboration with the Managing Partner and key units to strategize and implement. 
  • Contribute to building and managing a high-performing business development team.
  • Manage the performance of junior staff and provide guidance, contribute to setting up and strengthening corporate culture.
  • Perform quality control, validity, and accuracy of data on all written materials and deliverables.
  • Driving the organization’s internal efforts in analytical capacity-building and operational efficiency within the Business Development Team and across key units

Requirements

  • 9 – 12 years of experience as a Development Lead, Management Consultant, other relevant roles
  • A minimum of a master’s Degree in the relevant field of study (Economics, Management, Marketing, Finance, etc.)
  • Solid functional knowledge, including but not limited to strategy design, business development, product development, fundraising (resource mobilization), project and program design and management, etc.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability in a team environment initiative taker, eager to break new ground with an innovative approach, create opportunities for others.
  • Ability to work effectively with people at all levels in an organization and skills to communicate complex ideas effectively.

Project Implementation

Joining our team of experts as a Engagement lead, you will be spearheading effective and timely implementation of projects, handling the tasks of resource planning and assigning necessary resources for project implementation, and ensuring project progress and quality delivery of all active projects. This pivotal role requires a forward-thinking leader to orchestrate the seamless execution of project agreements into tangible outputs and deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of a clear implementation plan/project execution plan for project agreements into proper outputs/ deliverables, implementation steps, timelines, relationships across departments and partners, and risks or delays that might impact project delivery with proposed mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate within the various units for resource planning (staff-skill and financial) for project design and implementation (business development and partnership targeting)
  • Lead programs and projects, problem-solve, and brainstorming sessions for different project workstreams.
  • Regularly reviewing and monitor project progress and outputs, identifying resource and skill needs in the short and medium term, and providing the required support to ensure quality and timely implementation.
  • Oversee the development of written materials, and presentations or any project deliverable including contribution to content development and analysis.
  • Plan and maintain timesheets to allocate partners, advisors, and analysts’ time to projects and track deliverables.
  • Driving the organization’s internal efforts in analytical capacity-building, project management, coaching team members, and operational efficiency within the Project Implementation Team and across key units contributes to setting up and strengthening corporate culture.
  • Support the strategy | target design and regular update of the Project Implementation Unit in alignment with the overall organization strategy.

Requirements

  • 7 – 10 years of experience as a Management Consultant or another relevant role
  • A minimum of a master’s Degree in the relevant field of study (Economics, Project Management, Business Administration, Finance, etc.)
  • Outstanding records in managerial or professional achievement with a proven track record of managing multiple large-scale projects.
  • Demonstrated leadership in a team environment with exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills.
  • Solid functional knowledge, including but not limited to strategy development, project management, and implementation, stakeholder management, performance management, etc.
  • Ability to work effectively with people at all levels in an organization and skills to communicate complex ideas.

Associates

To successfully implement its strategic vision, ACE looks to recruit an experienced, motivated, aspiring Associate to join our firm.  The role requires a commitment to personal and professional growth, flexibility to work in a start-up environment, and willingness to go above and beyond to deliver timely and quality outputs. The Associate will work directly with the Engagement Leads/ Project Managers and Partners and support the implementation and delivery of projects and organizational targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Problem Solving: Identify and structure problems, develop and apply appropriate analytical framework and approaches, leading brainstorming sessions with own team.
  • Project management: Designing project work plan and approach, tracking tools, managing execution, and tracking the progress of work-streams as assigned and agreed by Project Leads and/or Lead Advisor.
  • Managing selected work streams or projects within assigned verticals including leading and supporting in the preparation of brief analysis, proposal, and concept development.
  • Identifying, collecting, and analyzing key data from various sources to contribute to project delivery.  Reliability and validity in data collection and triangulation will be necessary, with an emphasis on attention to detail.
  • Leading the development of high-quality written materials and contribute to content development and data analysis including presentations to clients.
  • Guiding analysts, training, and mentoring team members to develop high-quality analysis.
  • Support engagement leads/senior advisors and partners in identifying new business opportunities and developing the evidence for the proposed engagements.

Requirements

  • Educational background in Economics, Management, Development Studies, Business Administration, Engineering, Law, and related fields.
  • At least 7 years (for Bachelor’s) or 5 years (for Master’s) of combined professional work experience.
  • Experience in management consulting, public sector advisory work, or related field, etc
  • Experience leading independent work streams and multiple projects in the context of the broader company strategy and team projects.
  • Experience in managing teams & providing guidance to junior members of the team.
  • Demonstrated experience working and engaging with various stakeholders including government, development partners, and the private sector.
  • A strategic mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving (quantitative and qualitative), strategic planning, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Strong communication and inter-personnel skills demonstrated through the presentation, networking, negotiation, and collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and deliver results in complex and challenging environments with tight deadlines.

Senior Analysts

Core Responsibilities

  • Problem-solving: identify and structure problems, develop and apply appropriate analytical framework and approaches,
  • Identify and acquire relevant research and data, conduct analysis, and perform quality control.
  • Lead the design and preparation of high-quality written documents & presentations; prepare required tools & templates for the projects.
  • Support the management of the workstreams from start to finish, including timelines, content, and deliverables.
  • Support the Advisors/Associate with planning & facilitation of workstream-related meetings with counterparts, routines, and engagements.

Core Competency

  • Bachelor’s degree; Advanced graduate degree (e.g., equivalent)
  • Typically, 3-5+ years’ work experience in management consulting or related field is preferred.
  • Proven technical, quantitative, and critical-thinking skills, high level of independent judgment, initiative, and creativity to identify and clearly communicate key performance drivers.
  • Ability to break solve problems through quantitative thinking and analysis.
  • Established ability using Microsoft Office software with high proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel

Junior Analysts

Core Responsibilities

  • Plan, prioritize and manage work from start to finish, including data collection, analysis, and content development, and ensure required timelines and quality standards are met.
  • Identify and structure problems, develop key hypotheses and innovative solutions, and apply suitable analytical frameworks and approaches to test these hypotheses and solutions.
  • Identify and acquire relevant quantitative and qualitative data using a range of applied and pragmatic techniques, and quality control data to ensure validity and accuracy.
  • Organize and conduct interviews with up to mid-manager level stakeholders, plan and execute other critical stakeholder management activities.
  • Execute a wide range of analyses drawing on best practice approaches used in public and private sectors, and from various academic fields, to generate critical and actionable insights for partners.
  • Produce high-quality presentations and/or written documents.

Core Competency

  • Bachelor’s degree; Advanced graduate degree in Economics, Management, Engineering or related field
  • 0-2 year of work experience
  • Proven record of leadership in a work setting and/or through extracurricular activities
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate ideas effectively, both verbally and in writing, in English and the local office language
